Cameron began his career in merchant shipping and shipping law, after a life-long association with boats and yachts. He has almost 20 maritime qualifications. Since leaving the merchant navy, he has worked in maritime law and spent 12 years as Captain on private and charter yachts. He has completed approximately 310,000 sea miles in his career and has extensive experience. Cameron is a trustworthy and calm person who simply enjoys his work and working with others who enjoy their work too.
Experience
Managed transition for owner purchasing yacht. Organized contractors for updating yachts systems, certificates,
and completing yearly survey. Hiring, training and managing crew to deal with exacting live-aboard owner with
problematic schedule.
Planning then overseeing a very major refit. Complete Engine room replacement, full re-power, zero speed upgrade,
full bridge, AV and communications equipment replacement, air conditioning system replacement, complete
switchboard replacement. Complete monitoring and alarm systems replacement extensive electrical system
overhaul and upgrade, some teak replacement and some deck configuration changes and full re paint. Re-class and
re-flag. Whole refit to be managed in house not using an all service yard.
