Thomas' incident command training has been used during states of emergency for multiple hurricanes, tornados, brush fires, structure fires, and multiple motor vehicle. As a paramedic, he was first response to to cardiac, respiratory, trauma, maternity, pediatric, and medical emergencies. Tom used critical decision-making skills to evaluate patients' conditions while arranging Helicopter Medial Evacuation. Lastly, he acted as an Incident Commander to secure a scene, decrease further injuries, and implements a safety management and incident action plan. With Tom's new management of vacation rentals, he developed and supervised the construction process to maintain a high standard of property management and customer service.

Thomas was responsible for supervision of a fire station and up to 30 personnel (volunteer and professional). He was on duty for 24 hour periods while responding to fire, trauma, medical, marine, and forest fire emergencies, and learned valid safety skills in moments of distress.
